 Too Hard To Forget
it's there all the time, always in mind
 can't sleep anymore at night
 I can't get it straight, can't concentrate
 try and forget
wound like a watch, tight as a spring
 lately, always uptight
 laying awake, try and forget
 all night
this is the thing that can keep me alive I have found what I need if only to survive
I won't leave it behind, no, I still can't let go
I have seen in my mind
and the picture is too hard to forget
 yeah, too hard to forget
not to win, not to lose it, not to happen, not to be I cannot understand it and I just can't see
why is this so important to me? locked in my memory
I can't reason it out, I can't figure just why
but I know I've always had it there inside
and I can't shut it out, can't shut it out at all
this is the thing that can keep me alive I have found what I need if only to survive
I won't leave it behind, no I still can't let go
 I've seen in my mind
and the picture is too hard to forget
 yeah, too hard to forget
it's there all the time, always in mind can't sleep anymore at night
 I can't get it straight, can't concentrate
 try and forget
wound like a watch, tight as a spring
 lately, always uptight
ls I lay there awake and I try to forget
 all night
this is the thing that can keep me alive I have found what I need if only to survive
I refuse to accept that it just cannot be
I won't leave it alone just to die, can't you see
all my life I have searched for the key to my dreams
and this instinct of fate's driving me to extremes
'cause the picture I get is just too hard to forget
I have seen in my heart
and the picture is too hard to forget
 yeah, too hard to forget
 it's too hard to forget
oh, I've seen in my heart, in my mind
 it's the picture I see
 it's the picture I see
it's too hard, yeah, it's too hard to forget

 Son Of Sam
think of it as endless sleep
 think of it as ecstasy
as the ecstasy of a selfish lust
at least that's the way it feels to me
I can feel the very pulse of life setting like a throbbing August sun
into the Valley of the Shadow of Death
 and into delerium
and when I'm acting out of my dreams I savor the taste of sacrifice
I hold it to my breast
until the passion turns to ice
 but I'm not to blame
no, I'm not to blame, no
 better talk to General Cozmo
the mongrel is barking I hear him just outside
 the voice of the demon
 that is my unrelenting guide
standing in the smokey window light
 I accept what I know
 will be my plight tonight
my being absorbed within the voice
I never really think or make the choice
I do not wince to take control
 and never question
 it's sealed upon my soul
liquid heat caress my loin thoughts beginning to disjoin
in death's court such beauty rare
would Satan himself have one so fair?
into my eyes the torment's inside
I could not, or will, take human life it is by power of one much greater than I
for what's been done I know no blame
I wash my hands, I cannot answer
into my eyes the torment's inside

 Straight Into Infinity
sometimes I can see straight into infinity
sometimes I can feel the past dark cities
civilization deserves none of your pity civilization deserves none of your pity
we have brought it upon ourselves as a group but if you take the time to droop
you too can see into anonymity
just above the tangled wreckage of people's minds
sometimes I can reach deep into the earth sometimes I can sense a people's rebirth
and it is true that individuals make up an army and it is true that individuals make up an army
we have brought it upon ourselves as a group but if you take the time to stoop
you too can see straight into infinity
just above the foundation of people's mind

 Maybe If They Burn Me
intimidation, it's been there all along
and no friend worth my trust
I'm gonna fight, no one crosses my way
(what's that sound?) a rat creeps softly
 I'm gonna fight
maybe if they burn me, they'll remember me (eyes darting all about the room)
maybe if they burn me, they'll remember me
(eyes darting all about the room)
maybe if they burn me, they'll remember me
(eyes darting all about the room)
 it never entered my mind
look at me, I'm pinned and wriggling on the wall "this boy sees life through a rage"
 it never entered my mind
 I'm gonna fight
maybe if they burn me, they'll remember me (eyes darting all about the room)
maybe if they burn me, they'll remember me
(eyes darting all about the room)
maybe if they burn me, they'll remember me
(eyes darting all about the room)
 it never entered my mind
through death to love... all is unreal the far-off hum... the near-by hum
the deepest part of me cried out, to no one
no one that heard and I know
I know they'll remember me if they burn me
 maybe if they burn me
 maybe if they burn me
 maybe if they burn me
 maybe if they...

 Isle Of Man
a rugged shoreline surrounds an isle
lost in time within the water's grip
 a castle stands
the walls stained with salt and time
its view beholds the land below
 life's entwined
my land stands between two powers its freedom stands within two seas
the shoreline's been my steel armour
 castle's been an eagle's nest
time's been washed by a winter cloud
the sea's been tossed by the underground
tradition's been lost by the power cost
 something's been changed
 it's just not the same
the Isle of Man, of rock and sand the valley not touched, but by native man
for in the past, as now
 a fairy tongue does thrive
 and now, as of before
the young know little but of the old

 A Matter Of Time
 I watch the water sparkle
 moire' rainbows of liquid light
crystal fountains rush to the sea
 eagerly
little trout are swimming about my feet beneath the summer skies
gathering the waters, the cycle complete
 massage, ebb and flow
 surge onward to the sea
it's good to touch, and smell and see waterways... flowing gently
and on your beauty, a soft breeze plays
with you my longing forever stays
but you're dreaming of another day lost to the crashing of the waves on the shore
 forever
it's just a matter of... time it's just a matter of... time
 t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-time...

 Sargasso
 Part I
 revived in the following half-light
I was saved by the bouyant casks
afloating we were the barrels and I
among the monsterous tangles of vegetable appendages
I noticed the ship ahead aways
with a sigh of great relief
but then a far-away sun crawled slowly o'er
 the nightmare of legends foretold
before me the fabled graveyard of ghost ships forever entangled in tentacles of weed
the ship lay against a macabre horizon
 as shredded rigging, skeletal masts
creaked Sargasso's welcome... with dank mist
an air of doom hung ominous
then I thought for a moment there was silence...
Part II from the east came the sound of unearthly voices
their bizarre song grew, mocking hopes of rescue
I heard the hellish chorus pass my by unnoticed
parting a matted clump of weed, I was sorry for what I saw
two longboats pulled by the withered limbs of beings decrepit, yet awesomely powerful
tattered clothes and extreme age showed
these oarsmen were the ancient rowers
 swimming beside at incredible speed
 shrieking, wailing she-creatures
 barred their salt swollen teeth
fixedly eyeing the nearing fresh cargo
 chaos struck!
clawing, climbing scaling sides in overwhelming rage a swarming, frantic bedlam
onto the dazed and wounded crew
 overpowerd - overboard
the wretched, weakened men were thrown to sea hags
pulling them under water white with trashing
 but then still...
Part III only my nearness to the attacking menaces
stilled my cries of anguish and fear
 but nothing I had seen
prepared me for what was to follow
the captain unlocking his cabin came forth to greet the rowers as comrades as one
and they smiled together that ancient smile
as the bodies surfaced down below
his loathsome resemblance to them was now clear
had he brought us here to drown
 in this salt water Hell?
with a wave of his hand
they dove to join their loathsome counterparts
 tearing and snatching
at the brine-bloated bodies of my crew mates
grinding molars jammed bloody flesh through well-muscled throats
livid jaws grinned, ravenous and gleeful
 at the hideous slaughter
with demonic passion they devoured oblivious
choking and vomiting and gasping for more
some wrenched-off whole limbs feasting viciously
 others preferred carcasses
 savoring innards and entrail
 hags circled
 in a slavering feeding frenzy
engulfed in pink froth and manflesh
 a merciful faint overtook me...
